There’s no doubting that Unai Emery will be looking at getting some defensive reinforcements in when January comes around. The club is going through a crisis at the back and with uncertainty over the long-term fitness of a number of their central defenders, a lot of fans would be keen on seeing their side make a move for Manchester United’s Eric Bailly, as reported by ESPN.

The Gunners hate the idea of moving for Gary Cahill, as the report also claims, but the thought of bringing in Eric Bailly to The Emirates is one that they love the sound of. The Ivorian defender was signed by Jose Mourinho to Old Trafford back in summer 2017 but has been exiled by the icy Portuguese gaffer as of late, so it wouldn’t be a bad thing to see how highly United value their defender by throwing a January bid in for him.
It’s hard to see a way that Bailly wouldn’t fit in at Arsenal. Whilst he may not be the best defender on the ball, his pace, physicality and defensive prowess are enough to make him a striker’s worst nightmare. Alongside someone like Laurent Koscielny, who has the technical side to his game down, the Ivorian ex-Villarreal man would be a perfect fit at Arsenal, and the fans know that as they’ve been calling for their club to go ahead with the move.

Yes to Bailey, he is quick and stong and under Emery could offer a lot. Cahill no.

The Gunners all love the idea of bringing in Bailly and would take the United man in a heartbeat if they could.
