Tottenham Hotspur were rocked with the news that Mousa Dembele would likely be spending the rest of 2018 on the sidelines with an ankle injury.
The Belgium international had to be forced off in the first ten minutes of the game against Wolverhampton Wanderers last weekend, adding to Mauricio Pochettino’s injury woes.
He joined the likes of Victor Wanyama and Eric Dier on the treatment table, however, one of those men have taken to Instagram to share a positive update with fans about his recovery.
Dier posted a photo on the popular social media site showing that he was back in training and was pictured alongside Hugo Lloris.
The midfielder, who can also play in defence, has been struggling with a thigh injury and could be in contention to face Crystal Palace on Saturday at Selhurst Park.
Dier’s return to training will have come as a huge boost to Tottenham and Pochettino, especially given Dembele’s recent injury.
The 24-year-old, should he be available, would be able to slot straight back into the team and fill the void that the Belgian man leaves.
There is a concern that he may not be ready for the Palace game at the weekend, however, fans will be delighted that he is that bit closer to returning to first-team action.
