Escape route: These 2 Chelsea outcasts must seek end to Stamford Bridge hell

Chelsea are a club known for stockpiling exciting young talents.

At any one time they generally have a host of exciting young players out on loan across Europe. Breaking out of these ranks and emerging into the Blues’ first team is notoriously difficult.

Some of the youngsters on Chelsea’s books would benefit from some Premier League experience though, via loan moves, in case their time at Stamford Bridge ever does come.

Ola Aina

21-year-old Ola Aina spent the 2017/18 campaign on loan at Championship outfit Hull City where he became an integral part of the Tigers’ side. The right-back was ever present at the KCOM Stadium.

It remains to be seen however if the young Nigeria international can replicate this influence at Premier League level. A loan move this season to a top flight side would answer that question either way.

His Stamford Bridge future likely hinges on the outcome.

Tomas Kalas

The 25-year-old Czech centre-back is fast approaching the point of no return when it comes to establishing himself in the Chelsea set up.

A loan move to a Premier League side this term would likely be his last chance to prove his worth to the Blues.

Since arriving at Stamford Bridge in 2013, Kalas has spent 4 seasons on loan in the Championship. Last time around he was a rock at the back as Fulham secured their return to the top flight.

Another, third season, on loan at Craven Cottage looks possible this campaign unless Fulham seek a permanent switch. If a loan move does indeed materialise, Kalas will need to prove he can reproduce his quality in a Premier League setting.
