Established Arsenal international confirms intention to leave this summer

Wojciech SzczesnyArsenal fans in the Transfer Tavern have been handed some news which could seriously impact the business their side makes this summer, with one significant player confirming his intention to leave.

Metro quote Arsenal’s Wojciech Szczesny, who’s spent the season on-loan with Roma, as confirming his intention to leave north London and join the Italian outfit on a permanent deal this summer.

Szczesny was previously Arsenal’s first-choice goalkeeper until midway through last season, when a dip in form and off-field issues resulted in the Polish international conceding his starting spot to Colombian goalkeeper David Ospina.

When Petr Cech joined last summer, Szczesny was pushed out of the first-team picture altogether and shipped-out on-loan, with it becoming increasingly apparent that one senior goalkeeper will be sold permanently this summer.

Now, given the 26-year-old’s recent comments to reporters, it appears that Szczesny is the most likely man for an exit.

‘Next year in Rome? I don’t know. I know what you know, that the clubs are talking about it,’

Our landlord feels the goalkeeper could have a future at Arsenal but is unsure how he would fit into the squad with Cech at the Emirates Stadium, so he completely understands the reasons for a sale.

Arsenal fans, would your side live to regret cashing in on Szczesny? Let us know in the comments below!
