Euro 2016 scorer wants to ditch Sunderland for Serie A move

GiaccheriniSunderland fans in the Football Transfer Tavern don’t where this form is coming from in the Euros after this Italian international flopped at The Stadium of Light.

According to talkSPORT, Emanuele Giaccherini would love to join Fiorentina permanently this summer after spending last season on loan in Serie A.

The midfielder reminded all of the punters in the Tavern what he is about after he scored in Italy’s opening game against Belgium.

The 31-year-old struggled whilst playing for the Black Cats and he is still has one year left of his contract in the North East, but Sam Allardyce is willing to let him leave for £2 million.

Last season he was on loan at Bologna in Serie A and since this move, Bologna and Torino are also looking to sign him. And his agent, Giulio Marinelli, says his client would prefer a move to Fiorentina.

“Emanuele would be happy to come to Fiorentina but right now he’s only thinking about the Euros and he won’t be taking any decisions on the short term. As for the market, there was activity around Giaccherini before the beginning of the Euros. He has only year of contract with Sunderland, so his price could be under €2m.”
