The Liverpool fans here in the Football Transfer Tavern aren’t taking this one too kindly…
Liverpool legend Jamie Carragher has been far from complimentary about Mario Balotelli following the Italian forward’s departure from Merseyside on Transfer Deadline Day.
It began with a tweet for Carragher, and now it has exploded into somewhat of a feud between the pair.
The punters here in the Football Transfer Tavern are loving every second of it!
Following Balotelli’s Liverpool departure, Carragher discussed the move on Twitter, and cheekily stated that Nice were still “paying over the odds” – despite getting Balotelli on a FREE.

Never one to stay away from the spotlight, Balotelli fired back at the Liverpool legend shortly afterwards with a Tweet of his own.
In a to-the-point statement, Balotelli tweeted that Carragher was a “bad player, wonderful hater” – much to the dismay of the Liverpool fans here in the Tavern who worshiped the centre-half during his time at Anfield.

Now, Balotelli’s new club, Nice, have got involved in the mini-feud – with a tweet that got even our landlord laughing!
After being questioned on his thoughts on Balotelli, Carragher tweeted saying that he wished him well with his task to win the Ballon D’or – sarcastically of course.
Then, Nice responded to Carragher with a cheeky tweet of their own – offering the Liverpool legend an official Nice shirt with Balotelli’s name on the back.

Not much of a social media expert – our landlord is finding it hard to keep up with all this Twitter beef!
We’re not sure what anyone is gaining out of this feud – but the punters here in the Tavern are loving every second of it! Well – everyone except the Liverpool faithful!
