According to The Sun, Rangers are at real risk of losing their teenage prodigy Billy Gilmour with our Gers here in the Transfer Tavern feeling pretty glum about it all.
The 15-year-old creative player has earned himself quite the reputation in the Rangers youth set-up and could be set for a move to the likes of Chelsea, Bayern Munich or Barcelona in the future.
The one saving grace for the Gers for now is that under FIFA rules he cannot move until he is 16 and that is not until the summer of next year so they may be able to work something to tie him down for the future.
Our landlord thinks, though, that with the obvious competitive and financial benefits a move away could bring, that the Glasgow club would have to do something very special to keep hold of him past that milestone.
It’s indicative of the way Scottish football is at the moment with teams north of the border strapped for cash compared to those south of it.
This is one to keep and eye on, then, as we go into next year.
