The Man Utd fans in the Football Transfer Tavern are frustrated that his move simply hasn’t worked out…
Memphis Depay joined Man Utd with the weight of hope and expectation on his shoulders – but since his arrival, he has failed to deliver on all counts.
After coming off of the back of an impressive campaign in his native Netherlands, Depay was expected to take the Premier League by storm – but that has simply not happened.
He disappointed under Louis van Gaal, and has continued his poor run of form under Mourinho – and in truth, he is showing no signs of improving this season.
The Man Utd fans in the Tavern, then, were pleased to hear reports emerging over the last few days that appear to suggest that Depay could be on his way out of Old Trafford.
According to Corriere Dello Sport, Roma could look to move for Memphis Depay in January as they look to improve their attacking line.
Interestingly, they also note that Depay shares an agent with 2 other Roma stars in Vermaelen and Strootman – and that could play a role in convincing Depay to move.
Depay did not feature for Man Utd over the weekend, and in truth – his performances appear to be reducing in number as time goes on. He is yet to make a Premier League start this season, and has made just 4 appearances from the bench.
Whilst our landlord thinks that a move is best for his career, he also adds that Depay is just 22-years-old – and so he still has more than enough time to turn his career around.
