Europa League giants demand £40m for Manchester City target

SaneThe Manchester City fans in The Transfer Tavern are gathered around the jukebox discussing reports of a player they are interested in signing, flicking through the tunes as they debate if the deal is worth completing.

The Sun is reporting that the Premier League side have been quoted a staggering £40 million to secure the services of Schalke midfielder Leroy Sane.

The 19-year-old is regarded as one of the hottest prospects in German football due to some stand out performances for Schalke over the last couple of seasons.

Sources within Manchester City have said they have not as yet made a bid for the youngster and that they will not be drawn into a bidding war should they decide to make a move for Sane.

One manager who does admire the 19-year-old is Pep Guardiola, who is rumoured to be taking over at Manchester City when his Bayern Munich contract expires in the summer, but it remains to be seen if the club do show their hand and make a bid during the current window.

The Manchester City fans in The Transfer Tavern are questioning the fee put on the head of what they consider to be a largely untested youngster and do not want the club to pay over the odds to secure Sane’s services.
