Liverpool and Chelsea fans in the Transfer Tavern have been handed a blow after claims that one of their prime targets is not interested in a summer transfer.
TalkSport quotes Roma boss Luciano Spalletti as being insistent that Bosnian ace Miralim Pjanic is not interested in a move to the Premier League and intends to stay with the Italian outfit this summer.
“We’ll evaluate things. He said to me that he wants to stay, so if he’s happy, I’m happy. Roma put on a show, and it’s clear that some of our players are targets for other clubs. But these are the same players I have contact with every day, and they assured me they want to stay at Roma.”
“We have to further evaluate it of course, because it happens in football that one club takes a player from another club. We’ll evaluate, but the players want to keep wearing our shirt.”
Both Chelsea and Liverpool are said to have enquired about the midfielder’s services but it seems they’ll have to set their sights on alternative targets.
