European club deny reports star player will join Man United

AndersonManchester United fans are cursing their luck this afternoon as they tuck into their pub lunches, after reports suggesting a key deal was in place for the summer has been stated as false.

Serie A outfit Lazio issued a statement to deny reports that key-man Felipe Anderson will join Manchester United this summer, amid reports that the 22-year-old Brazilian had sealed a massive transfer.

The stance from the Italian club came after reports from Gazzetta Dello Sport quoted Lazio president Claudio Lotito as confirming he had approved the sale of the South American midfielder.

However, those reports were stated to be false by Lazio themselves, who released a statement which read:

“In reference to the statements attributed to President Claudio Lotito regarding the alleged sale of the player Felipe Anderson, SS Lazio notes that these reports are devoid of any foundation.”

Manchester United have been heavily linked with a move for Felipe Anderson in the past and our landlord believes a deal taking Anderson away from Lazio is inevitable, although he’s unsure if the Red Devils will maintain their interest into the summer.

United fans, how gutted are you that these reports were false? Let us know in the comments below!
