Manchester United fans in the Transfer Tavern have expressed their concern after a report suggested they could miss out on one of the signings of the summer.
German media outlet Bild state Bayern Munich boss Carlo Ancelotti has contacted soon to be free-agent Zlatan Ibrahimovic, to discuss the possibility of the veteran striking moving to the serial Bundesliga champions.
Bayern are in the market for a striker amidst speculation that they could lose star-man Robert Lewandowski and Ibrahimovic’s stature is certainly appealing, whilst there is also the bonus that the Bavarian outfit won’t have to pay a transfer fee for his services.
It’s potentially a big blow to Manchester United, who have been heavily linked with the signature of the Swedish superstar, and Bayern’s offer of Champions League involvement could decide the Red Devils fate in the market, as Ibrahimovic’s illustrious career has not seen him lift Europe’s elite competition.
Our landlord reckons the Premier League is the destination for the striker though, although he is wary of Ancelotti’s side as the Italian boss has worked with Ibrahimovic previously.
Will Ibrahimovic choose United over Bayern Munich? Let us know in the comments below!
