Manchester United’s overhaul this summer could be about to take a turn for the worst, with fans in the Transfer Tavern concerned about the latest rumours.
The Daily Star cites Spanish publication Fichajes as stating Real Madrid are contemplating a move for Manchester United midfielder Ander Herrera this summer, with Los Blancos preparing for wholesale changes.
Real Madrid have endured an awful season, with the latest disappointment being a shock 2-0 defeat to Wolfsburg in the Champions League quarter-finals, and Zinedine Zidane has his work cut-out this summer to revamp the struggling side.
Whilst Zidane’s first choice target is Juventus ace Paul Pogba, Real Madrid know luring the Frenchman to the Santiago Bernabeu could be difficult and the French footballing legend has eyed Ander Herrera as an alternative.
The Basque ace, yet to be capped for Spain’s senior team, has impressed since joining the Red Devils in a £30m transfer from Athletic Bilbao but Herrera could eye an exit if United fail to quality for the Champions League.
With United at risk of losing other senior players, including long-term Real Madrid target David De Gea, this report will just increase their concern.
