Liverpool fans in the Transfer Tavern have been far from impressed by one of their major recruits from last summer but it seems a big club is still interested in his services.
TalkSport state that Serie A leaders Juventus are aware that Jurgen Klopp could sell Christian Benteke this summer and have set their eyes on the Belgian international, who’s struggled in his debut season at Anfield.
Following a £32.5m arrival from Aston Villa last summer, which made him the second-most expensive signing in Liverpool history, Benteke has managed just eight goals from 35 appearances and has plummeted down the pecking order.
However, the 25-year-old is still considered to be a capable striker and Juventus are ready to offer the international a new lease of life this summer, as they prepare a bid of £20m.
Liverpool will have to accept a loss on the player due to his poor performances but with Divock Origi, Roberto Firmino and Daniel Sturridge ahead of him in the pecking order, it seems Benteke is certainly surplus to requirements.
