Arsenal fans in the Transfer Tavern are responding to a timely transfer boost handed to their club, which suggests a big deal could be imminent.
The Evening Standard states Borussia Dortmund are keen to offload contract rebel Henrikh Mkhitaryan by the end of the week, with Arsenal leading the long queue of clubs interested in the player’s services.
Armenian international Mkhitaryan is in no rush to sign an extension on his contract at Dortmund and, with the player’s current deal expiring next summer, the Bundesliga giants could be forced to sell.
The club’s sporting director, Michael Zorc, stated a final decision on the player’s future ‘will be made this week’– which could open the door for Arsenal to land a second high-profile signing from German football, having already landed Granit Xhaka.
Mkhitaryan was in excellent form for Thomas Tuchel’s side last season, scoring 11 Bundesliga goals and laying on 15 assists for his team-mates, and our landlord feels he could be the missing link to Arsenal’s attack.
Arsenal fans, would Mkhitaryan complete your attacking trio alongside Alexis and Ozil? Let us know in the comments below!
