Arsenal fans in the Transfer Tavern are in a better mood today after their well earned 2-0 victory over Everton yesterday, which ended an abysmal run for the Gunners, but the fans are discussing a potential exit this summer.
Italian outlet TuttoSport state Juventus are lining-up a move for Arsenal forward Olivier Giroud this summer, as an alternative to Paris Saint-Germain’s Edinson Cavani.
The Turin giants desperately want to bring Cavani, formerly of Napoli, back to Italy but the 29-year-old Uruguayan is being linked to a host of clubs across Europe, including a number in the Premier League, which could prove decisive.
If Juventus do fail to land Cavani, they’ll instead target a move for French international Giroud- who is a controversial figure amongst Arsenal supporters, with many not feeling that he is up to scratch with what the Gunners need.
However, an exit for Giroud would leave only Danny Welbeck as the recognised centre-forward in the club as Theo Walcott is mostly used in a wider area. Whilst Arsenal are in the market for striker’s of their own this summer, an exit for 29-year-old Giroud is unlikely.
Arsenal fans, can you afford to sell Giroud this summer? Let us know in the comments below!
