European giant lining-up surprise move for Chelsea superstar

Costa 4Chelsea fans in the Transfer Tavern have made their concerns about missing out on Champions League football clear to us all and it seems their nightmares could become a reality.

The Daily Star says Paris Saint-Germain are eying up a shock move for Chelsea striker Diego Costa and will look to trump Atletico Madrid in the market with a significantly higher offer.

Costa has excelled in front of goal since moving to Chelsea in 2014 for £32m but his game is always shrouded in controversy, whilst speculation of a managerial shake-up this summer has hinted towards major changes amongst the squad.

Whilst the Spanish striker has rekindled his form under the guidance of Guus Hiddink, Costa and the other members of Chelsea’s forward line have struggled at times this season and changes seem necessary in the close-season.

Chelsea themselves could be extremely tempted by an offer made by PSG, as it’s indicated the French giants could use Edinson Cavani as makeweight in a deal.

The Blues are well acquainted with their Ligue 1 counterparts due to their Champions League involvement, with Chelsea trailing heading into the second-leg of this week’s Round of 16 match-up.

Our landlord feels this deal could happen and that swapping Costa for Cavani may end up being a very good deal indeed.

Chelsea fans, would you be open to swapping Costa for Cavani? Let us know in the comments below!
