Arsenal fans in the Transfer Tavern were over the moon to see their side land Granit Xhaka in an early piece of transfer business last week and it seems there could be further moves on the horizon.
The Daily Mirror suggests the next deal involving Arsene Wenger’s side could see a player leave the Emirates, with Turkish giants Besiktas ready to offer Colombian international David Ospina an escape route from north London.
Ospina arrived at Arsenal after the 2014 World Cup and pushed his way into the Gunners first-team ahead of Wojciech Szczesny in the second-half of his maiden campaign but the signing of Petr Cech last summer meant Ospina dropped into the back-up position once again.
The Colombian has experienced limited opportunities this season, and made some high-profile mistakes in the Champions League, with it now being stated that the 27-year-old is keen to leave the club for more regular first-team opportunities.
Besiktas are preparing a bid of just £3m for the experienced goalkeeper and it’s unlikely that Arsenal will stand in the way of the player’s exit, with Wojciech Szczesny expected to remain in north London this season as understudy to Cech after spending last year on-loan with Roma.
