European giant preparing to meet Liverpool to discuss striker’s transfer

Mario BalotelliMario BalotelliMario BalotelliLiverpool fans in the Transfer Tavern have breathed a sigh of relief today, as it seems increasing likely that they’ll be able to offload a huge flop.

La Gazzetta Dello Sport indicate AC Milan want to sign Mario Balotelli on a permanent basis this summer and the player is keen on a move, despite only netting once for the Italian giants in the Serie A this season.

25-year-old Balotelli has spent the season on-loan with Milan after returning to the San Siro outfit last summer, following an atrocious debut season at Liverpool after his transfer in 2014, and it’s increasing likely he’ll return to his former employers this summer.

Liverpool have long wanted to get rid of Balotelli and the striker made it clear he doesn’t want to return to Merseyside, as he told MediaSet Premium last week:

‘I want to stay at Milan. I do not want to return to Liverpool. I was never happy at Liverpool. Plus Milan have the money.’

Balotelli was clinical for Milan in his first spell with the club, scoring 26 goals in 37 Serie A starts, but the forward has struggled to find his feet again and is not a part of Jurgen Klopp’s plans.
