Liverpool and Tottenham Hotspur fans in the Transfer Tavern are discussing a boost they’ve received in the transfer market, with a defensive target potentially becoming available.
Spanish outlet Marca state Barcelona are preparing to cash-in on 25-year-old defender Marc Bartra this summer, who is available for a minimal fee due to a clause in his contract.
Having failed to feature in more than 60% of Barcelona’s games this season, Bartra is available for just €12m and Barcelona will extend his contract by one-year but will not remove that clause, opening the door for a Premier League move.
The Catalan giants need to sort out their finances this summer and that’s likely to mean a number of exits for fringe players, whilst it’s possible that some bigger names will also become available.
Young Bartra, who has a earned a wealth of experienced throughout the years in Catalonia, is a target for both Spurs and Liverpool this summer and Barcelona will not stand in the way of a departure.
After years as an understudy, Bartra will likely seek regular first-team action and may also push for a move to a Champions League club, which would put the north London outfit in the driving seat for his signature.
Would Bartra be a good signing for this Premier League pair? Let us know in the comments below!
