European giant ready swoop for Manchester United star

De GeaManchester United fans in the Transfer Tavern have been handed a serving of concern to go alongside their pie and mash, with reports indicate a star player could be lured out imminently.

The Sunday Mirror states Manchester United goalkeeper David De Gea is the prime target for Real Madrid this summer, who have seen the transfer embargo slapped upon them by FIFA suspended.

Real Madrid of course almost grabbed the player on Deadline Day last summer, before a last minute mix-up scuppered De Gea’s dream move to the Santiago Bernabeu.

He has since signed a new deal with United, which ensured his contract didn’t run out this summer, but an exit for the highly-rated Spanish goalkeeper seems inevitable- especially with the Red Devils looking set to miss out on Champions League football.

The report states Manchester United will receive an offer of £23m from the Spanish giants, who will also hand De Gea a massive £6.5m signing on fee to make up for an embarrassing turn of events last summer.

Our landlord believes De Gea is worth a fair bit more than the sum offered, and feels United will share that belief, so this could simply be the beginning of another long saga.
