Liverpool fans have gathered in the Transfer Tavern for Deadline Day, surrounding the TV screens as they hope of some exciting news.
The Daily Mirror has suggested a familiar name has appeared on Jurgen Klopp’s shortlist, with Liverpool looking at Real Madrid winger Denis Cheryshev as an alternative to Shakhtar Donetsk’s Alex Teixeira.
Cheryshev is eyeing an exit today to seal more regular first-team football ahead of the European Championship this summer and Real Madrid manager Zinedine Zidane stated yesterday an exit is likely.
“We’ll see tomorrow but yes, Cheryshev could leave. He’s a great player but he needs to play.”
The Russian international is a name that has been linked with a move to Merseyside in the past and, rated at around £7m, a deal could be possible- though at this late stage it’s much more likely to be a loan switch rather than a permanent move.
With Liverpool looking rather depleted in attack as they search for a spot in the top-four, our punters are hopeful of some big names today.
However, our landlord doesn’t expect any big movers to make the journey to Anfield.
