Manchester United fans in the Transfer Tavern have abandoned an afternoon performance meeting at the bar, as they’ve been alerted to sensational reports that suggest a dream signing is becoming a reality.
Following reports from Fichajes yesterday which stated Manchester United are readying a club-record bid for James Rodriguez, El Confidencial now state that Real Madrid will approve the Colombian’s exit if his behaviour does not improve.
The World Cup hero has struggled to cement regular first-team football since arriving at the Santiago Bernabeu from Monaco in 2014 and that’s made the South American extremely unhappy, whilst Goal reported yesterday that new boss Zinedine Zidane is concerned with the player’s lifestyle.
Rodriguez’ situation has only intensified speculation that he could be on the move, with reports now indicating Los Blancos have threatened to sell him if his behaviour doesn’t improve and meeting with his agent, Jorge Mendes.
A potential problem in United’s chase could be the transfer ban imposed by FIFA, which prevents Real Madrid registering any new players in the summer and January 2017, which means the Spaniards would be less willing to approve a sale if they can’t bring in any replacements.
Our landlord believes United need to be very wary in their chase of Rodriguez, as although he’s very talented his behaviour is course for concern and it could be a huge problem.
United fans, is Rodriguez the dream signing? Let us know in the comments below!
