European giant ready to beat Man United and Arsenal to £16m striker

CavaniManchester United and Arsenal fans within the Transfer Tavern are bracing themselves for disappointment, after reports suggested the Premier League duo will be left empty-handed in the race for a quality striker.

TalkSport states Juventus are ready to beat the English pair to the signature of Paris Saint-Germain forward Edinson Cavani, by offering a three-year deal to the Uruguayan worth a total of £16m.

Cavani, who has vast experience in Italian football having starred previously for Napoli, is set to leave PSG this summer as part of the French giant’s major rebuild- which is also seeing a certain Zlatan Ibrahimovic become available on a free transfer.

However, if either Manchester United or Arsenal are desperately keen to land the 29-year-old they shouldn’t find it too difficult to lure him to the Premier League, as Juventus’ offer is worth a mere £85k-a-week.

That would put him amongst the highest earners in Turin but it’s far below the £300k-a-week Manchester United pay Wayne Rooney.
