European giant ready to hijack Man United’s £35m striker swoop

Icardi.jpgManchester United fans in the Transfer Tavern have exploded with expletives this afternoon, after their afternoon meal was ruined by reports that they’re set to miss out on a top target of theirs.

Italian publication SportMediaSet state that Paris Saint-Germain are ready to break Manchester United hearts by lodging a £35m bid for Inter Milan striker Mauro Icardi and beating the Red Devils to the forward’s signature.

Icardi, captain for the Italian giants at the age of just 22, is highly-rated in Italian football but he endures a stormy relationship with boss Roberto Mancini. As such, his future continues to be shrouded in speculation- and the fact Inter are struggling to land Champions League football doesn’t help.

With PSG looking set to lose experienced forward duo Zlatan Ibrahimovic and Edinson Cavani this summer, the French side’s interest in Argentine international Icardi is understandable and the price stated would tempt Inter into a sale.

It’s bad news for Manchester United, according to our landlord, as he feels PSG are in a much more promising position and he feels they could compete for European honours in the coming years- whereas United have a lot of work to do.

United fans, how gutted would you be if you were to miss out on Icardi? Let us know in the comments below!
