European giant ready to sell forward to Arsenal for £53.4m

AubameyangArsenal fans in the Transfer Tavern have ordered a round of shots in celebration, after hearing that their club looks set to land an astonishing addition.

Metro, quoting Spanish journalist Kike Marin, state that Borussia Dortmund have conceded that they will sell Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang to Arsenal if they are offered €70m; which equates to £53.4m, a record-breaking fee for the Gunners.

Arsenal have held long-term interest in the Gabonese international and they believe the addition of the 24-goal forward would all but assure them of Premier League success, whilst also raising their competitiveness in other competitions.

Whether Arsene Wenger would agree such a huge fee for the Bundesliga hitman remains to be seen but a crucial factor could be the fact that Aubameyang is eligible to play in the latter stages of the Champions League, with Dortmund on securing Europa League football last season.

Olivier Giroud, who has 19 goals in all competitions this season, has led the line extremely well for Arsenal this season but Aubameyang’s record of 24 goals in 23 appearances is one of the best in the top-levels of world football.

Our landlord believes Aubameyang will come to Arsenal but that Gooners will have to wait until the summer to land their man.
