Arsenal and West Ham fans sat by the Transfer Tavern’s fireplace are looking particularly glum today, after hearing that their sides will both miss out in the hunt for a quality attacker.
TalkSport, citing claims from Spanish outlet Mundo Deportivo, state AC Milan are close to sealing a deal for Celta Vigo forward Nolito, who has been linked with both Arsenal and West Ham over the course of the season.
The 29-year-old, who was capped for Spain earlier in the campaign, was pursued by Arsenal in January, who couldn’t persuade Celta Vigo to part-ways with their target, whilst West Ham have also expressed an interest in the veteran.
However, it’s increasingly likely that Nolito will snub a move to the Premier League in favour of moving to the San Siro, with AC Milan ready to meet Celta’s demands of £12m for the international forward.
Our landlord doesn’t believe Arsenal should be too fussed, as he believes they can seal a better attacker in this summer’s market, but as for West Ham, he understands their disappointment.
Who should the Premier League duo target if Nolito is off the table? Let us know in the comments below!
