European giant warn Chelsea off managerial pursuit

AllegriChelsea fans in the Transfer Tavern were pleased to see their club fight back against Manchester United yesterday, which ensured their unbeaten run continued, but the lads ordering a new round are concerned by the lack of developments in their managerial hunt.

The Blues continue to seek a replacement for the axed Jose Mourinho, who left his position in December, with Guus Hiddink only at Stamford Bridge on a temporary basis until the end of the season.

Many names have been linked with the position in West London, including Juventus’ Massimiliano Allegri, but the Turin giants have warned Chelsea off a pursuit of their boss. The Sun quotes Juve director Beppe Marotta as stating:

‘We have a great rapport with Allegri. Now the crucial moment of the season is coming up, so we should focus on that.’

‘In any case, contracts are not as important as the rapport between people. With Allegri the conditions are all there to continue. The team is doing well and improving a great deal.’

Juventus, like Chelsea, endured a poor start to their title defence but the Turin giants have fought back in the second-half of the campaign, now just two points off the top after the latest round of fixtures.

Our landlord believes that, despite Juventus’ stance, Allegri could well end up at Stamford Bridge if he seeks a challenge away from Italian football.
