European giants confirm interest in Arsenal’s want-away international

ospinaaaArsenal fans in the Transfer Tavern are reacting to confirmation that a big European side is interested in one of their assets and they’re debating whether to accept a sale.

The Daily Express quotes the sporting director of Besiktas, Gokhan Keskin, as confirming the Turkish side are keen on signing David Ospina from Arsenal.

“Nothing has been agreed on yet but we are targeting Ospina.”

Ospina was limited to just 12 appearances this season, playing understudy to Petr Cech, and those numbers were boosted during a period when the Czech veteran was absent through injury.

The Colombian international, 27, is now considering his future, with Wojciech Szczesny set to return from a loan spell with Roma and the Polish international is favoured as the long-term goalkeeper in north London.

If Szczesny is to stay, then it’s almost guaranteed that Ospina would leave the Emirates after two-years spent in-and-out of the first-team, and our landlord thinks Arsenal should accept a sale.

Who should Arsenal keep, Ospina or Szczesny? Let us know in the comments below!
