European giants ‘open talks’ to beat Man United and Arsenal to sensational defender

Mats HummelsMats HummelsManchester United and Arsenal fans in the Transfer Tavern have been united in their disappointment today, after it emerged they’ll have to compete with one of Europe’s finest for the signature of this quality defender.

German outlet Bild state Bayern Munich have opened talks about signing Mats Hummels from arch-rivals Borussia Dortmund, with Manchester United and Arsenal also linked to the World Cup winner’s services.

Hummels, who left the Bavarian giants in 2009, has revealed he has made a decision regarding his future and it hints massively that he’ll leave Dortmund this summer.

“I’ve set a date [for my decision], but I’m keeping it to myself. It’s costing me half an hour before bed every night.”

Whilst Bayern will be the favourites for his signature, Dortmund will understandably prefer to sell Hummels to a club outside of Germany- especially having lost Robert Lewandowski and Mario Gotze to their bitter rivals in recent years.

Our landlord believes that Hummels would be a huge success in the Premier League and is hopeful the defender will move to England.
