European powerhouse plot move for unsettled Chelsea star

Costa 1Chelsea fans in the Transfer Tavern have been given more cause for concern as they tuck into their curries this afternoon, as it seems increasingly unlikely they will lose a top-name this summer.

The Daily Mail state that Atletico Madrid are looking to bring Diego Costa back to Spain this summer, using the massive sum they received for selling Jackson Martinez to China this week.

Costa was a star in his inaugural season at Stamford Bridge, helping the Blues to the Premier League title, but he’s struggled to rekindle that form this term. Whilst he has improved under Guus Hiddink, his future remains up in the air.

According to the reports, Costa would be keen on a move back to the Vicente Calderon, where he enjoyed vast success under Diego Simeone, finishing with a tally of 64 goals in 135 games in all competitions with the Spanish giants.

The controversial forward has never stood too far from the limelight at Stamford Bridge but his behaviour is under scrutiny, with the latest incident coming in the goalless draw against Watford last night- as he clashed with Hornets defender Juan Carlos Paredes.

Our landlord isn’t a fan of Costa and believes he’s a liability, urging the Blues to cash-in if the price is right.

Chelsea fans, would you be happy to sell Costa this summer? Let us know in the comments below!
