Tottenham fans inside the Football Transfer Tavern are sick to death of reports from Spain linking Real Madrid with a move for Gareth Bale, and Tom Hopkinson of the Daily Mirror reckons Bale isn’t the only man from White Hart Lane on Real’s wanted list.
They are also looking to bring in Tottenham manager Andre Villas-Boas as a replacement for the outgoing Jose Mourinho, and are looking to offer Spurs a £50 million package for the pair – £40 million for Bale, and £10 million in compensation for Villas-Boas.
Mourinho has already told Real president Florintino Perez that he will be leaving in the summer, whilst another former Chelsea manager Carlo Ancelotti is also a possible candidate to replace him.
It is understood Real made contact with Villas-Boas’ representatives at the end of last month.
A switch to Spain for the Portuguese coach would make it all the more likely that Bale would leave White Hart Lane for the Bernabeu.
The Welshman is thought to favour one more season at Tottenham, but if they miss out on Champions League football he is likely to demand a move.
Meanwhile Benoit Assou-Ekotto is expected to make a switch to Monaco, with Real Madrid full back Fabio Coentrao reportedly Tottenham’s number one target to replace him.
