There has been a lot of transfer stories about Arsenal in the last few days here at the Football Transfer Tavern and now the Daily Mail have got one for Tottenham fans.
The club are about to see one of their forwards leave the club – no not Gareth Bale before anyone reaches for the tequila shots, but Emmanuel Adebayor.
The writing has been on the wall for the former Gunners forward for some time now and going AWOL after the African Cup of Nations when playing for Togo did not help the player either, and now it seems that Andre Villas-Boas is willing to see the forward leave.
Adebayor has been a target of Turkish side Beskitas who are willing to pay good money for him and match his rather large weekly wage packet and their manager Slaven Bilic even noted that: “Adebayor is a very talented player, anyone would like him to be a part of their squad.”
Given the player only netted five times in 24 games for Spurs last season, that is quite a lavish comment yet the forward himself is reluctant to join the club due to their imposed ban and thus missing out on playing in any European competitions next season.
Should Adebayor leave, AVB will have to find another forward and has seen the likes of David Villa opt for other clubs so far this summer.
Will Adebayor join the Turkish Super Lig outfit? Let us know your thoughts below.
