The Everton supporters who were in the Transfer Tavern yesterday were partying until the early hours after a Romelu Lukaku brace secured their passage to an FA Cup semi-final at Wembley, with a 2-0 win over Chelsea.
According to reports in this morning’s Express, Everton might have a tough task on their hands when it comes to keeping hold of yesterday’s match winner, with Manchester United, Chelsea and Atletico Madrid all expressing an interest in the striker.
With Everton not set to take part in the Champions League next season, it seems likely that some of Europe’s elite clubs will be sniffing around the Belgian striker.
It is thought that a bid in the region of £60 million would be needed to tempt the Toffees into a sale but that isn’t likely to deter the interested parties.
One Everton fan is at the Tavern’s cocktail bar and he thinks that is the club lose Lukaku, it would represent a real blow and would be detrimental to the club’s chances of honours in the future.
Everton fans, what do you make to this news? Can the club keep hold of the Belgian striker?
