The Daily Star have wiped the smiles from the faces of Manchester United fans in the Football Transfer Tavern after claiming that it would cost £100 million to bring Cristiano Ronaldo back to the club.
Not only that but Spanish football expert Guillem Balague believes that the deal will NOT be happening.
The Real Madrid forward cost at least £80 million in terms of his transfer fee but he would also demand £20 million in wages.
That is simply not a figure the club can afford or justify spending on a 29 year old who is according to them, not going to get any better.
Our regulars move over to the pool table and admit that the club are in desperate need of Ronaldo and from what we have seen, he is only getting better, scoring a goal an average of an incredible 41 minutes each game for Real Madrid.
Quite if Ronaldo was ever really serious about moving back to Manchester United we do not know but one thing is for sure; according to our landlord and our regulars, the fans want it to happen and the rumours do not seem to be going away!
