The Everton fans in the Transfer Tavern have been impressed by Morgan Schneiderlin since the midfielder moved to Goodison Park…
After a disappointing spell at Man Utd, the Toffees made a move for the Frenchman – and he has subsequently returned to form. Offering a real force in the heart of the Everton midfield, there is no doubting that Ronald Koeman’s side improved as the season progressed.
Schneiderlin himself, though, is seemingly not content – and the Frenchman wants his side to improve even more next season. Speaking to the official Everton website, Schneiderlin said: “I know myself that I can be even better and improve…That’s my main focus and I want to improve and help this team to be in the top four”.
Everton have been a side on the periphery of European football for a while now, with the Europa League and the Champions League often on the horizon for the Merseyside-based outfit. Schneiderlin, though, isn’t interested in finishing in the top six. Instead, he wants to aim high and reach the top four – which will, of course, bring with it Champions League football.
It is certainly going to be a tough ask for the Toffees, with sides like Man Utd, Man City, Chelsea and Tottenham all likely to improve this summer, whilst Arsene Wenger and Arsenal will be wanting to put a bad year behind them and challenge back at the top of the table once again.
Nonetheless, Schneiderlin is clearly one of Europe’s most talented forwards, and our landlord thinks that with a few more players like him, the sky is the limit for Koeman.
