Everton will be looking to rebuild their squad ahead of next season and the fans in the Transfer Tavern will be expecting a number of additions, whilst also wanting a number of men to depart Goodison Park this summer.
Sam Allardyce is expected to oversee the recruitment of players this summer and will look to target a front-man to help Everton add firepower to their game. The Toffees have struggled in a number of matches and have lacked the necessary threat going forward.
Big Sam brought in Theo Walcott and Cenk Tosun in the winter and both players have started to find the back of the net recently, but it is widely believed he wants to add another prolific striker to his ranks.
According to media outlet A Bola, the Toffees have identified Porto striker Moussa Marega (valued at £10.8 million by Transfermarkt) as a possible transfer target. The 27-year-old has been influential in the Portuguese side’s climb back to the top of the table with 22 goals and has also attracted interest from Premier League rivals West Ham United.
It is believed the Mali international is not concerned about a switch to England’s top-flight at the moment, whilst Porto are not prepared to let him leave unless a club triggers his 40 million euro release clause.
The Everton locals in the Tavern will be pleased that the club are already looking at transfer targets and will be excited by the prospect of a striker with Marega’s ability joining them. Everton will not need to worry about the price of the player as they have spent big in the past, although the punters will be hoping he does not turn out to be another flop to add to a growing list at the club.
