Everton already making plans to replace Martinez, club make approach for coveted manager

BielsaThe Everton fans who are playing pool in The Transfer Tavern this evening are discussing reports that the club have approached a manager about taking over in the summer.

The Liverpool Echo is reporting that South American sources are claiming that the Premier League club have approached Marcelo Bielsa about becoming the club’s new manager this summer.

The pressure is increasing on current manager Roberto Martinez as the club have underperformed this season, and the result of the FA Cup Semi-Final in two weeks could have a major influence on him continuing in the position next season.

60-year-old Bielsa has a wealth of experience having previously managed Argentina at international level, and had success in spells with Espanyol and Athletic Bilbao in La Liga.

Those Everton fans in the Tavern think it is time for Martinez to go as they are fed up with the way the side have played this season, and have been given the impression that he has lost the respect of many of the squad.

Meanwhile, our landlord here in the Tavern feels that Martinez is an excellent manager, and says the Toffees should give the Spaniard more time!
