Everton and Liverpool may have the same transfer agenda as both clubs had scouts spotted at a European league game over the weekend.
According to a report by Sportske Novosti, the arch-rivals both had officials in attendance at the game between HNK Rijeka and Hajduk Split on Saturday afternoon, as the two Croatian sides played out a goalless draw.
The two sides were not alone in their efforts to scout players though, with the likes of Leicester City, Borussia Dortmund, Udinese, Sampdoria, Napoli, Chievo Verona, Atalanta and Lille all keeping close eyes on proceedings.
The report fails to add who the two sides may have been taking an interest in, although it may not be surprising to hear that they are taking a look at a country who were World Cup runners-up last summer.
Croatia have managed to produce a number of talented individuals over the last few years or so and their performances at the World Cup showed they are a nation with plenty of quality footballers to offer.
A number of players are starting to emerge through the system and it appears that Everton and Liverpool could be planning for the future, although if anybody caught their interest remains to be seen over the next few years.
Both clubs have had Croatians in their ranks before, with Dejan Lovren and Nikola Vlasic as examples, however, both have had a varying degree of success in the Premier League.
