The West Bromwich Albion fans in the Transfer Tavern were delighted to keep Jonny Evans in the summer but are worried that he might depart in the January window, leaving them light at the back.
Evans has emerged as one of the best defenders outside of the big clubs in the top flight and has now attracted interest from the big boys.
Manchester City have been admirers of the Northern Ireland international, who could help his side win a place at the World Cup in 2018 if they triumph in their play-offs against Denmark.
But the Citizens now face competition from struggling Everton.
Everton, who are currently managerless, are looking for a new boss but are also casting their minds ahead to the upcoming transfer window in the new year.
The Toffees are keen to add some new players to the squad in order to pull themselves away from the relegation zone and up the Premier League table.
Jonny Evans has been identified as a perfect man for the job.
However, West Brom could demand a huge price for the 29-year-old, who is a proven performer at Premier League level, has experience of playing at the top with Manchester United and counts as homegrown.
