Newcastle United and Everton fans are currently gathered around an article that has been published in today’s Daily Express here in the Transfer Tavern, with neither set of supporters particularly happy with what they are reading.
The newspaper reports that ex-Manchester City flop Felipe Caicedo has been sounded out for a return to the Premier League, with the Toffees and the Magpies both weighing up moves for the Espanyol player.
The Ecuador international netted just four times during his time with City despite playing 26 times for the first-team and the signing is hardly likely to get any Premier League supporters too excited.
The striker is the top scorer for his country in their qualification campaign for the 2018 World Cup but is said to be keen on a return to England.
One Newcastle fan is sticking a tune on the jukebox in the Tavern and thinks the signing would be a disaster for his side, claiming the Magpies already have enough below-par players without throwing another one into the mix.
