It’s been an uphill battle for Swansea City all season but after a 1-1 draw with Manchester United at Old Trafford, there’s hope amongst their supporters here in the Tavern that survival might not be as impossible as first thought.
The Swans remain 18th in the table after the draw but there were some seriously promising performances on display and the contingent from South Wales that drink here in the bar were delighted with what they saw from their battling players.
And of course, the man that scored that vital equaliser was Gylfi Sigurdsson, who always seems to have an answer up his sleeve when the going gets tough.
A stunning free-kick ensured the spoils were shared but after the game, the Icelandic international says he’s not at all bothered with speculation linking him with a move away and that he’s only focused on the job in hand at the club.
“I’m completely focused on helping Swansea stay in the Premier League because I don’t want to get relegated,” he told Wales online following the game, which could turn into a vital point for Paul Clement’s team.
