A few of the Man Utd fans in the Transfer Tavern aren’t sure how he has lasted at Old Trafford for so long…
Under Jose Mourinho, Man Utd have undergone somewhat of a revolution with regards to their personnel.
The experienced Portuguese boss has brought in a number of Europe’s most impressive players, including the likes of Ibrahimovic and Pogba, and as a result – some of the Red Devils’ more experienced hands have fallen by the wayside.
Ashley Young is one of those players – with the likes of Mata, Rashford and Mkhitaryan largely being preferred in place of the veteran Englishman.
This has, expectedly, made the Man Utd fans in the Transfer Tavern predict that he could be set to leave the club, and if Manchester Evening News are to be believed – that could actually happen.
As per the Liverpool Echo, Ashley Young is a man-in-demand, with the likes of Everton and West Brom in the race for the 31-year-old. They also note that Watford and Swansea are keeping tabs on the midfielder.
Our landlord isn’t surprised at this, considering the breadth of experience that Young has available to him. He joined Man Utd in 2011, and has gone on to make over 100 appearances in the league for the Manchester giants – winning a collection of trophies in the process.
With the likes of Swansea and Everton struggling for form in recent weeks, a move for an experienced midfielder such as Young makes a lot of sense.
He hasn’t been at the races as of late, but Ashley Young in his pomp was some player. Take a look below…
The fans in the Tavern think that he could return to this form, if he gets a chance.
