The Everton and West Ham United fans in the Transfer Tavern are getting really excited about the possibility of signing Vincent Kompany.
Both sets of fans are saying that he could be the answer to their defensive problems, but only if he can stay injury free.
The Mirror on Sunday are reporting that Everton and West Ham are among a number of clubs chasing a summer move for Manchester City captain Vincent Kompany.
The Belgian international has only played 7 times this season as his campaign has yet again been blighted by persistent injuries.
Pep Guardiola apparently rates Kompany but is worried about his injury record and therefore might be willing to offload him.
Everton and West Ham could swoop if the 31-year-old manages to stay fit for the remainder of the season.
West Ham have been leaky this season despite having four reasonable centre backs in Winston Reid, James Collins, Jose Fonte and Angelo Ogbonna.
Everton are in the market for a new centre back to compete with Phil Jagielka, Ramiro Funes Mori, Ashley Williams and Matthew Pennington.
Our landlord thinks that Kompany would be an excellent purchase for Everton or West Ham if he can prove his fitness.
