Everton appear to have taken a real interest in one of the clubs currently participating in this season’s Europa League competition.
According to a report by Record, via Sport Witness, the Toffees were just one of a number of sides to have attended Benfica’s match against Chaves on Monday night.
Benfica ran out 4-0 winners on the night, with Joao Felix the star of the show once again, however, the report fails to add who the Premier League outfit may have been keeping tabs on.
A number of players are said to have impressed in the game, with clubs ranging from Manchester United, Nice, Borussia Dortmund, Eintracht Frankfurt, Real Valladolid, Sevilla and Gent all believed to have been in attendance.
However, it was not the first game that Everton have watched recently that has involved Benfica, with Record, via Sport Witness also revealing that they had watched their Europa League triumph over Galatasaray last Thursday.
It would definitely appear that someone at Benfica has piqued the interest of Marcel Brands and Everton recently.
However, who that may be remains a mystery, especially with a number of their players currently putting in a number of solid performances for the Portuguese outfit.
With the Lisbon-based club set to take on Porto in a clash at the top of the Primeira Liga on Saturday evening, it would not be surprising to hear if Everton officials will be at that game as well.
