The Everton fans who are gathered around the jukebox in The Transfer Tavern this evening are discussing the future of their manager.
The Guardian is reporting that the club’s board are set to sit down and discuss the future of manager Roberto Martinez this week.
It has been a season of underachievement as far as many are concerned at Goodison Park this season, and with reports that the club’s fans are set to protest against the manager ahead of this weekend’s game, it appears as though time could be running out for the Spaniard.
With the club recently selling a 49.9% share in the club to Farhad Moshiri in February the board need to be sure they have the right man at the helm for next season and the summer’s rebuilding after what has been a season of unrest at Goodison Park.
The fans are discussing over social media the best way to protest against Roberto Martinez with famous white handkerchiefs being waved as they do in Spain appearing to be the choice of many.
Our landlord in The Tavern believes that the club should hang on to the services of Martinez for next season as in his opinion he is one of the best young managers in the game.
As for the Everton fans they believe enough is enough and the club should just fire the Spainard and look for a more competent manager to take control this summer.
