Everton boost as prime Howard replacement set to become free agent

Steve MandandaThe Everton fans are gathered at the bar supping a few pints in The Transfer Tavern this evening discussing reports that a summer transfer target is refusing to open talks over a new deal with his current club.

The Daily Mirror is reporting that Marseille goalkeeper Steve Mandana is has demanded that contract holds are put on hold until the summer when he becomes a free agent.

Marseille have had a poor season in Ligue 1 so far this season and find themselves well off the European spots in 13th position. Speaking about his future Mandana said:

“My future? We will have a discussion at the end of the season. We have enough concerns ahead of speaking about my personal situation.”

Everton are set to see a few incomings this season and with Tim Howard set to depart the club during the summer, manager Roberto Martinez is in the market for a new goalkeeper for next season.

The Everton fans in The Transfer Tavern don’t know much about Mandana but judging by his comments they believe that the club have a good chance of bringing him to England over the summer months.

Everton fans, would Mandanda be a good replacement for Howard? Let us know in the comments below!
