The Everton fans in The Transfer Tavern are having a friendly game of darts this evening and discussing comments made by their manager.
The Liverpool Echo is reporting that Roberto Martinez is confident that he will be 100% in charge of transfers at the club this summer following the news of big investment from Farhad Moshiri.
Martinez is delighted that the club can expand where they look for players with the added investment and has high hopes that the club can secure a coveted Champions League place next season. Speaking about the summer window, Martinez said:
“It is a change at board level in terms of the way we’re going to work but our work internally is going to be exactly the same. We need to have a good strategy in terms of the short-term and the long-term.”
“There are certain rules we have to keep in mind but what it doesn’t change is that we are going to use every window to become stronger and a better squad and making sure the young players at the football club develop the winning mentality they need for us to become a winning team.”
“That’s making sure that from window to window we develop those players and develop an incredible desire to be proud to play for Everton and represent Everton, which is the most important aspect of any player in this dressing room.”
The Everton fans in The Tavern are excited for the summer window and can’t wait to see what additions Martinez will make.
