The Everton fans in the Transfer Tavern are beginning to get seriously concerned about the future of Romelu Lukaku…
The Belgian is clearly one of the Premier League’s best forwards, and Chelsea are reportedly circling, so it seems that an Everton departure is a possibility.
That has left many of the Toffees in the Transfer Tavern hoping to see Lukaku receive a new contract, but as of yet – nothing has been confirmed on Everton’s end.
That silence has now been broken, though, with Ronald Koeman questioned on the idea of a new contract whilst speaking ahead of Everton’s clash with Sunderland.
In response to questioning, Ronald Koeman was reportedly coy in his response, with Richard Buxton reporting on Twitter that he said: “I don’t know”.

Whilst on one hand, this response could be genuine, with Koeman genuinely unsure of any developments – it could also hint that talks have hit a snag. Otherwise, you would think that Koeman would suggest that talks are underway and going well – leaving the Everton fans in the Transfer Tavern concerned.
Koeman has, of course, been crucial to Everton’s cause this season – having scored 16 goals in the Premier League already.
It is going to be an interesting few months at Goodison Park…
