Everton boss looking to hijack £16m Premier League deal

The Everton fans competing in a pool tournament at The Football Transfer Tavern this evening are discussing reports linking the club with a move for a new striker.

According to reports in The Express, Everton manager Ronald Koeman is keen on a reunion with Southampton striker, Graziano Pelle this summer.

The Italian international, who played under Koeman at both Feyenoord and Southampton, has a year to run on his current deal at St Mary’s and it will reportedly take a bid of around £16 million to persuade the South Coast side to part company.

With the future of Romelu Lukaku at Goodison Park still in doubt, Koeman is keen to have a replacement at the club should the big Belgian decide to leave.

Everton could face competition in their efforts to sign Pelle, with Chelsea and Chinese Super League side, Shanghi Greenland also reportedly interested in taking him to their respective clubs this summer.

Saints fans, we want to hear from you! How do you feel about Pelle following Koeman to Goodison? or would the fact that he may go for double the money you paid soften the blow? Let us know below…
